Unearthing of the Wrought
642 EE
In 642 EE, during the excavation of a series of Caretaker ruins in the mountains of eastern Vasselern, Archivists of Tidehold uncovered several large vaults that were previously unmentioned by any of existing Caretaker records or mythos. Within, the Archivists found hundreds of what appeared to be humanoid statues. Built of metal and stone, the vaguely humanlike creations were clearly of Caretaker design and make, but left abandoned since before the Shattering.
Moments after opening these vaults, however, the statue-like figures began to animate - drawing in Core energy and coming to life. The first figures to rise spoke only haltingly, and only in the ancient Caretaker language. They were lost, confused, and bereft of memories and purpose - they knew only that they were built to serve a purpose in the world, but not to whom they served or what that greater purpose was.
Now known as the Wrought, these mechanical constructs looked to the Archivists that discovered them for guidance. As hundreds awakened in the depths of Vasselern, the Crown of Vassellia offered them refuge and shelter in the boroughs of Tidehold, where they constructed the Assemblage. Within, the Wrought sought their purpose and destiny, and how they might contribute to the societies of the modern Shards that so willingly took them in.
Today, the Wrought stand as one of many independent sentient species in the Shards. Born to a variety of forms, the Wrought are individually specialized, but are as a community adaptive and versatile. Their new home, Terminus, was constructed in the span near Vasselern - their long time allies - and stands as a testament of their will and capabilities.
