The Infinites
The Infinites are the immortal, deific beings that are responsible for the creation of Nerasa, and the slice of space that contains it. No one knows exactly what the Infinites are beyond beings of seemingly endless power and potential from a realm beyond our own, who set forth to create and impart their powers and will upon the cosmos.
While the Infinites were surely quite prominent and active at some time, since the shattering of Nerasa, they have been pointedly absent. Whether they have simply withdrawn for a time, or have fully abandoned Nerasa to its fate, is unknown. Some believe they have simply taken a less active role in the world, yet still keep a watchful eye over its people.
While the Infinites, true to their name, are believed to be endless in number, there are a pointed few - members of the Infinite Congress - who are revered, regarded, or even feared by the modern denizens of Nerasa.
The Seven
Of the Infinite Congress, seven are known to be the most active and most involved in the creation of Nerasa, and responsible for the everyday components of living in the Shards. These Seven, called simply this, are revered by the mortal races of the Accord:
Karimos, The First
“May the First guide us as we take our next step forward.”
Regarded as the leader of the Infinites, Karimos is said to have been the driving force behind the gathering of the original Infinite Congress that created Nerasa. This infinite is the progenitor of inspiration, leadership, and the passion that drives all living things to strike out and do new things.
Followers of the Infinites take Karimos’ name, or invoke The First, when they need to motivate, lead, or seek the strength to begin a new endeavor.
Ataros, The Builder
“May the Builder guide my hammer true, and bring my endeavors to new heights.”
The patron of all craftspeople, artisans, and engineers, Ataros is the Infinite that is said to have contributed the most to the myriad ruined structures that tell tale of Nerasa's creation, but also the most impressive of natural geographic wonders.
Followers of the Infinites take Ataros' name often in the various trades and arts, particularly when undertaking arduous, risky, or innovative endeavors.
Aszios, The Guide
“May the Guide shepherd our spirits beyond the veil, and watch after our journeys in the beyond.”
All who revere the Infinites know the Guides’ role in caring for and watching over all the spirits and souls that were created in the founding of Nerasa - and domain over those spirits that pass from the material world.
Followers of the Infinites take Aszios' name when their loved ones pass on, and when approaching their own death.
Magristos, The Rite
“May the Rite give us the tools to weave the fabric of our reality.”
Magristos is, as his name might suggest, regarded as the patron of magic and magisters both, and is most closely followed by practitioners of the arcane arts. It is said that Magristos wove into the rules of the cosmos the rhyme and reason that makes arcane magicks possible, and understandable by mortal minds.
Followers of the Infinites take the Rite’s name in magical rituals, but also when hoping to influence a difficult magical endeavor.
Estilas, The Nurturing
“May the Nurturing bring us good health, long lives, and a vibrant shard.”
Estilas, the Nurturing, is the Infinite credited with the whole of the Shards’ complex and vibrant ecosystem and, in some perspectives, the whole of life itself. Druids, priests and farmers alike all give Estilas their praise for a generous harvest, a gentle spring, and the pleasant aroma of a field of freshly blooming flowers.
Followers of the Infinites take Estilas’ name when seeking good health, a generous garden, or a mild season.
Saivias, The Keeper
“May the Keeper track our days, and order the seasons as they pass.”
The Keeper is the Infinite believed to be responsible for the linear system of time that all mortals are bound to, and the creation of the days, years and even minute measurements of those ever passing moments. Likewise, Saivias is believed to have held sway over the manipulation and speed of time.
Followers of the Infinites take the Keeper’s name when trying to stay on schedule, when bargaining for extra time, or when hung up in the drudgery of toil.
Salistes, The Thinker
“May the Thinker hone our minds, drive our studies, and grant us the boon of logic.”
Salistes is the Infinite patron of the sciences, the entire concept of logic and - in some regards - the ability for the mortal races to think, deliberate, and have a sapient understanding of the world around them. All scholars look to Salistes in thanks for their ability to parse the world’s mysteries, ponder philosophy, and seek answers.
Followers of the Infinites take the Thinker’s name when puzzling over a difficult problem, and seeking an answer to a confounding riddle.
Lost Infinites
Beyond the Seven, there are two additional known Infinites who had significant enough impact - for better or worse - on Nerasa, but are not included in the Congress of the Seven. Based on the writings of the Infinites and the Caretakers, it is known that other Infinites existed - but had no interest or involvement in the Congress’ work on Nerasa.
Szekaris, the Innovator
“May the Innovator’s bones never again rise to darken the span, and may his cruel intentions forever be laid low.”
Originally regarded in Caretaker scripts as the Infinite of Change, Szekaris is now regarded as a tale of arrogance, envy, and corruption. Charged with overseeing the process of invention and ideation for the founding of Nerasa, Szekaris’ envy over Estilas’ creations saw him seeding the world with magical Change - bringing about a rampant wave of corruption and destruction that nearly (or perhaps did) destroyed the world they all created.
When the Congress discovered Szekaris’ actions, they rushed to bring him to heel. Szekaris resisted. In the resulting conflict, the world of Nerasa was broken and shattered, and the Seven forced to retreat from their once prized creation.
For his actions, Szekaris is viewed as the force responsible for the destruction of Nerasa, and is regarded as a wicked, cruel, envious entity - one better off destroyed and the world, what’s left of it, better for it.
Szekaris’ resting place was known as the Foulheart - a great well of Corruption power, a dangerous Infinite Source that was equal parts malicious and unpredictable. In the early 700s, a band of heroes known as the First Wayfarers managed to see to the destruction of the Foulheart, and forestall a resurrection of the fallen Infinite - though his power still remains in the region known now as the Sorrows.

Oristasz, the Advocate
“Lost to the Shattering, the Advocate ever strove to make the world for its people.”
Oristasz’s responsibilities to the Congress were focused on interacting with not just the Caretakers, but all the lifeforms produced by Estilas’ machinations, and to anticipate and accommodate the needs of the world itself. Oristasz ever sought what was best for Nerasa.
To further this goal, Oristasz was forced to sacrifice himself during the Shattering. In an effort to preserve at least some of Nerasa from the conflict of his peers, the Infinite gave up his being to create a realm that is now known as the Other, or Orasza - an incomplete and broken echo of what Nerasa once was.
The fragments of Oristasz now rule over Orasza as the Otherlords, and see to the needs of its people.
