Another of the more metaphysical forces at work in the Shards, Cognitive forces refer not only to the perception and thoughts of individuals, but also to the field that connects all thinking creatures. On its own, Cognitive forces are those which allow sentience and the instinctual bonds that form between family, close companions and such similar close relations that seem to keep one another in sync.

When manipulated with Core energy, the energy fields of the Cognitive can be utilized to interrupt, strengthen and forge new bonds, allowing practitioners to read thoughts, project their own, and even begin to alter the perception and interpretation of information - creating illusions and beguiling the mind’s eye.
