One of the least understood of the forces at work in the cosmos of the Shards is what the scholars of the realms refer to as Spiritual energy, or simply Spirit. This energy is believed to be created by Aszios, The Guide, and associated specifically with the realm of the dead that this Infinite was responsible for. As such, this force applies to the metaphysical connection to the soul.

While few can easily manipulate Spirit, there are still practitioners. Monks and priests have long managed means to influence Spirit to manipulate the soul in myriad ways, from soothing pain, to bolstering willpower - and even quite the opposite.

Most unique of all forces, however, Spiritual energy transcends the mortal realm and acts as a medium upon which travels the voices of the departed - granting its users a limited ability to speak with those who have long left the mortal coil.
