===== Elementals =====
The Elements are one of the most commonly encountered magical forces in Nerasa. The magic of the elements manifests easily in the hands of the people of the shards, and readily fills most magical storms that travel through the span. That the elemental forces should sometime manifest as creatures, or at least lifelike entities, is no great surprise.

Modern elementalists have categorized these elements into several categories based on their capabilities and size.

==== Surge ====
A surge is the smallest form of elemental life. Ranging anywhere from a tiny spark of lightning to a living ball of flame, surges are seemingly creatures of only instinct and elemental intent. Mostly harmless, these creatures will come into being in the aftermath of storms and quickly dissipate if left to their own devices. Rarely, they are known to cause minor elemental effects, or annoy people.

==== Frenzy ====
The most commonly encounter elemental, frenzies are between a foot and three in size and tend to adopt vaguely animalistic or small humanoid figures. Frenzies tend to manifest after powerful elemental storms and can linger for quite some time with enough ambient energy. They are generally harmless, unless provoked, but they can be mischievous and driven by whims - causing minor floods or small bush fires.

==== Unbridled ====
Rare and powerful, unbridled elementals can be anywhere from the size of an average humanoid, to considerably larger. Unbridled elementals only manifest naturally in the midst of the most powerful elemental storms and are immediately driven to act in accordance with their element - such as starting fires, flooding rivers, or causing earthquakes. They are not typically malicious, but their antics can be highly destructive.
