At it’s peak, Nerasa was a massive world, spanning many times over the size and scale of own world, and containing biomes and climes that we might consider alien and fantastical. Further, the immense planet was also home to the magically gifted progenitor species known as the Caretakers - the children of the Infinites - who built expansive cities, epic citadels, and mystical facilities for the advancement and study of the cosmos.

Eons ago, the cataclysmic events of the Shattering saw the paradise world of Nerasa destroyed by the desperate machinations of its own creators. In the wake of this event, the fragmented remnants of the world settled into a loose orbit around the massive font of magical energy that once saturated the world.

Today, thousands upon thousands of these fragments - known as Shards - encircle the Core of Nerasa and have by the grace of magic and fate become home to the varied lifeforms native to Nerasa. These Shards vary wildly in size, structure, climate, and magical saturation, resulting in a near endless potential for explorers and colonists to uncover, settle, and tame.
